The School Resource Officer program is a working relationship between the Wellington Police Department and USD 353. The School Resource Officer is a full-time Police Officer assigned to the Wellington High School and the Wellington Middle School.
The officer's primary function is to help ensure a safe environment for the student, faculty, administrators, and staff. The Resource Officer acts on all crimes committed within the schools. The Resource Officer also works with the staff at the school as a guest teacher and counselor. The Wellington Police Department/USD 353 School Resource Officer Program began with the 2000-2001 school year
