The Wellington Recycling Center opened in April 2005 to help reduce the amount of trash going to the landfill. The Recycling Center operations are funded through the Sanitation operations. Due to market changes and increased processing costs for most recyclable material, it has been necessary to make various changes in the City’s recycling program. The Recycling Center is the responsibility of the Public Works Department with Sanitation staff manning the facility during operating hours.
Please separate all materials into the product categories listed below. Each category will be handled differently. All material must be clean, dirty containers will be landfilled by the processors rather than recycled. Information will be provided to the public to assist in the education of different materials as it becomes available.
