SCKEDD has partnered up with the Kansas Housing Resource Corporation (KHRC) to help in administering this program. KEPP is designed to financially assist tenants who have missed one or more rent payments since April 1, 2020 due to the pandemic. If an application is approved, landlords receive funds for missed payments in an agreement to waive all late fees and to not evict the tenant. Here is some quick information for you:
- Landlords and tenants apply via a joint online process.
- If the application is approved, the landlord receives rental assistance funds directly from KEPP.
- Landlord accepts KEPP funds as rental payment and waives late fee(s) for the month(s) assistance is awarded.
- Approved tenants are eligible for a maximum of nine months of assistance, not to exceed $5,000 per household.
