Please see the following information regarding storm cleanup this week.
The Street Department will begin picking up limbs from the recent storm damage tomorrow (Tuesday ~ August 8th). Please pile any limbs in the front of your property next to the curb and be sure to keep the limbs away from mailboxes or any ornamental fixtures. Due to the extensive damage throughout the city, our focus will be on the larger material and there may be smaller stuff left behind. Also, please make sure any vehicles are moved away from the brush piles, as we will be using heavy equipment to load the trucks.
The Compost Site will be open regular hours the rest of this week. (Mondays-12p to 6p, Wednesdays 8a to 1p, Thursdays 12p to 6p & Saturdays 8a to 4p). Please do not access the Site during the hours that we are closed to the public, even if the gate is open. The Street Department and other City staff will be running loads through non-stop during the hours that the Site is closed to the public.
If you are needing to haul limbs during hours that the Compost Site is not open to the public, you may take them to the Transfer Station/Landfill. There will be a charge for the normal refuse rate.
The roads within Prairie Lawn Cemetery are currently closed for public access while Cemetery Staff cleans up storm damage. We hope to have these roads back open by Wednesday morning.
